  1. heaven on earth! this was excellant. i made it for my parents with salmon and asparagus. these potatoes needed no extra butter or sauce. perfect as is!

  2. Be very naughty and add bacon to this recipe. Add the bacon grease and go right to heaven! It is wonderful. I make a simular dish with red potatoes, green beans, bacon and sometimes, the grease. You can cook the red potatoes and green beans together.

  3. Fabulous darling, just fabulous!!! These mad a wonderful side dish with our pork tenderloin. I added more garlic (of course) and some salt and pepper. Super taste, very good Inez, thanks! These are now a keeper for good.

  4. I made these last night, needed something quick and this was it. I used garlic powder and frozen parm instead I thought they were awesome. My family loved them they ate the whole pot in less than 10 minutes. Thanks Inez.

Tweaks

  1. These potatoes were amazing! Instead of cooking the potatoes with the garlic, I roasted the cloves in the oven until there were soft and mashed them in the potatoes with the other ingredients. I also added some garlic powder, chives, and a cheese blend for a more flavorful dish. Next time I may add a dollop of sour cream for a little extra kick!

  2. Instead of adding garlic cloves, you can use garlic salt as well.

  3. We got some red potatoes in our farm box. I didn't have any fresh garlic, so I added some Trader Joe's crushed garlic to the potatoes after I drained them. I also used buttermilk instead of milk. Everyone in my family liked them and gave them between 4 and 5 stars, a true complement from my sometimes picky eaters!

  4. yummy! used russets as thats what i had. bout 5 or 6 cloves of garlic, used mediterranean spiced sea salt in place of regular and added just a touch more regular salt to make up for the addition of the few spices. omitted parm chz and added 4 more Tbsp of butter. went very well with salisbury steak!!! thanks mizz nezz!!

  5. Amazing. These are quite possibly the best mashed potatoes I have ever eaten. I forgot to check my ingredients before I started and realized too late that I had no garlic. I substituted in garlic salt instead of the garlic and salt. Turned out fantastic!

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!! I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch. We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
