When I have family and friends visiting, they request this for breakfast. I will use whatever breakfast meats and veggies I have on hand. While it is not a "lighter option" I often substitute the pizza dough with crescent roll dough, which creates a lighter, flakier crust.

This is great...with pizza crust on-hand, it's easy to put together and it seems very adaptable. I gave only four stars simply because we don't like jalapenos, but I would definitely make this again - especially for company. I used ground turkey breakfast sausage, mushrooms in place of onions and mozzarella instead of jack as these were what I had on-hand (and my husband doesn't like onions). I make my own whole-grain crust, so the only hitch is making it the day before; but for this I happened to have some left over. As a "side" I used the remaining dough to make breadsticks, rolled in butter and cinnamon-sugar :).

This was good but not enough egg. Next time I'll use bacon instead of sausage. Some herbs would be a great addition too.

My family asked me to make this over and over. While it likely increases the fat content, using crescent roll dough instead of pizza dough makes it flakier. I also change up the meats and veggies depending on what's in the fridge. Also works for the vegetarians in the family by removing the meat and upping the veggies (i.e. mushrooms, bell peppers, asparagus, onions).

I made this for a potluck brunch and it was a huge hit!! I ended up using 5 eggs because I was cooking for a crowd, and I thought the filling-to-dough ratio was just right with 5 eggs. I also made two other versions for vegetarian guests: one with broccoli and cheddar and another with spinach and feta! I also ended up cooking the eggs separately from the other filling ingredients, and then just layered them on top. Can't wait to have an excuse to make this again!

Cute idea for days when you want to spend extra time making something that looks fancy. Otherwise make the filling and wrap it in tortillas - easier, faster, healthier.

I used an 11oz. can of pizza dough instead of 13.8oz and I still ended up tearing some of it away. Overall this breakfast turned out great and it's very easy. I served this with a small fruit cup as suggested w/grapes, strawberries and oranges.

Very yummy. I added an extra egg, but would also use 4 next time. I did add a handful of sliced mushrooms, and agree that next time I would add spinach. I think you could make it work with sausage of any kind or any kind of ham. Super easy recipe and I think it was wonderful reheated.

This is a great breakfast dish! I used Egg Beaters to cut down the fat content, and the other flavors are so pronounced, nobody noticed the eggs weren't the real thing. I also played with the carb-to-protein ratio; it either needs more filling or less dough. It was a little more time-consuming to prepare than my family is used to... next time I'll make this the night before so I don't have a kitchen of hungry and cranky people waiting on me. But once it was on the table, it was a huge success!!

Very nice recipe with great presentation. Definitely make it with 4 eggs rather than 2. Also, while it was good, I think it could have used an extra punch of flavor. Perhaps adding some chipotle tobasco to the scrambled eggs would give it that extra kick to take it to the next level.

My boyfriend and I love this recipe. I've made it few times now and it is really simple yet full of flavor. I've also tried a few substitutes. Since chicken sausage with jalapenos is not available near me, I've used regular pork sausage one time but found our favorite version to be made with chopped pancetta instead. If you have low sodium bacon on hand that will work as well. We also found that you need more than 2 eggs, we use at least 6. I've made this for family gatherings and it never fails to impress. What's fun with this recipe is that you can mix it up to include all your favorite breakfast flavors. Definitely a keeper!

I've made this many times and it always gets lots of compliments and requests for the recipe. It's probably one of my husband's all-time favorite breakfasts. I don't use the pizza crust in a tube. I make some homemade dough in my bread maker and go from there.

Found the chicken jalepeno sausage and used 2 links (6 oz., not the reccomended 4oz.). Also used 4 eggs. Will definately make again.

I was suprised that this recipe received so many excellent ratings and I rated this so low because truly I would not make this recipe again. It was easy to make and very pretty, I will give the recipe that much credit, but even with making this with a croissant bread, 1 whole jalapeno, 1/2 of a yellow bell pepper, spicy turkey sausage, etc., it was completely and utterly boring! This shocked us - both my husband and I didn't even have to ask each other if it was a keeper. The lack of enthusiasm both of us displayed while eating our pieces of braid spoke for itself. Very dissapointing...

Made this as a "breakfast for dinner" recipe. Used two and a half links of chopped sausage and 4 eggs (because of previous reviews and because we were having it for dinner). I simply used the small amount of left over beaten eggs from the bowl to apply a smear egg wash on the top of the braid (instead of an egg white). My husband declared this is one of his new favorites!

This was fantastic - my husband and I both loved it! I didn't have all of the ingredients listed, but like another person stated - you can pretty much use whatever you have in the house! Mine included roasted red pepper chicken sausage, pepper jack cheese, sharp cheddar, onions, garlic, red and yellow baby bell peppers, and cilantro. Next time, I may make it more greek style by using feta and olives (not sure yet about the meat). This is a great base recipe and can't wait to make it again.

Made for a kids breakfast option, so I omitted the jalapeno and used ham instead of sausage and added some cilantro. Like past reviews had mentioned, it needed more eggs, so I used 4 instead of 2 and it was perfect... definitely would have felt skimpy otherwise. It was a huge fan for both the kids and adults. I think this is a solid recipe where, like an omelet, you can put just about anything inside and it's going to taste delicious and look like you spent way more time on it than you did. This is definitely a keeper!

I made this for Mother's Day and have a few tips: I used crescent roll doll in place of the pizza dough, for more flavor, which everyone agreed this option was better (yes, I realize this adds more fat and calories and defeats the purpose of a light recipe). Overall this recipe is simple and easy to adjust to your likings in regards to taste for the filling, BUT the amount of filling felt skimpy, so I would recommend to double up on the ingredients. I made one with sausage crumbles and another with cubed ham that I sauteed first. Both were delicious and I added some veggies as well. I will definitely make this again.

Great and easy breakfast food! Good for brunch! I used 3 chicken habanero sausages from costco. Removed the casing. I didn't add the onion. But added another 2 eggs. As another mentioned upping the calorie count! Looks gorgeous! Not enough heat for my household! I'd probably add more jalapenos, red peppers, and maybe switch out egg whites for additional eggs.

Excellent, easy, and looks like I fussed! I used venison sausage (hubby is a hunter) which is very lean and added some jalapenos. I also followed other's advice and doubled the eggs. We had it for Sunday breakfast before church and was a huge hit. We had a scout function that day and didn't get home until about 2pm. I asked my husband and son if they were hungry, they said 'YES and can we have the leftover stuff from breakfast!' Now that's a 'hit' at our house.

AWESOME! This would be great when you are hosting for company. Since I made this during a blizzard, only whole wheat dough and garlic flavored chicken sausage were available. I also added some 'everglades heat' chili powder which gave it an additional kick. I was surprised how big the portion was for one serving and I felt full afterward.

I made this over the weekend for an out-of-town guest, and it went over very well! I actually quadrupled the sausage and egg (there goes the calorie count!) but it was for a special occasion after all. I doubled the cheese. My grocery store didn't have chicken and jalepeno sausage so i used Italian turkey sausage. Next time I think I'll try to find the chicken and jalapeno sausage at a different grocery store. I did add chopped jalapenos to the sausage mixture. I served this alongside some green grapes.

Easy recipe to follow. Used pork sausage with jalapeno since couldn't find the chicken sausage locally. It's tasty and would make it again. Served with grapes as suggested. Seems slightly heavy on the bread per serving. Next time, to yield more filling per serving, I would use 3 or 4 eggs instead of 2 when adding eggs to the sausage/onion mixture. Might also use additional ounce of shredded cheese.
