Story

Fostering saves lives. That is the truth. It takes a village to save lives and if we dont have fosters in the PNW we hardly adopt any because MOST people want to meet the dog/pup first. You get breaks, we assist you in so many ways. We do ask you foster hopefully a minimum of 6 times as there is our volunteer time assisting new fosters and training how we do things . The most important besides food, water and love are containment. Thank you! We hope to hear from you.

Story

APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/We must have an application to move forward.CAROLINA is a beautiful and happy Black Lab mix. She has just turned 4 yo but you wouldn't know it. She is happy and active. Wants to go everywhere with everyone. She gets along great with other dogs even though she could be a bit overwhelming with her enthusiasm. She will be great for a family with kids...lots of kids. She arrived to ACS in Laredo with a litter of pups (old enough to wean) so they were separated. She was skinny with dull hair... and she was an adult dog...so she didn't have much future there. I was asked...begged...by one of the ladies who helps there to take her. I couldn't say no. After I received her, she went immediately to be spayed then spent 2 weeks recovering from the spay and getting good nutrition. What a difference. She then got to join the other dogs in the "Big Dog Pen." She started a new life of FUN! What a difference! Now it's time for her next stage in life... a family (or person) to call her own!! She came so close to having her life cut short... Now it's time to LIVE and move on.CAROLINA has not had training...but her great personality makes up for it. Now it's time for her to be trained and learn the rules. Is that something you can do? She is not appropriate for an apartment. She is too large with too much energy. She would be excellent for the active person that lives to bicycle, boat, swim... What A DOG!!!Check out our YouTube Video: https://youtu.be/3V2Be1XR79UThis dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog.HOW ABOUT FOSTERING! If you are not in the position to afford a puppy/dog but still want to be an important factor in dog rescue, we recommend fostering. Fostering ensures you incur no vet bills and no boarding fees while saving a life and enjoying the love of a canine companion. We are always in need of good fosters. You can sign up to foster at this link: https://shaynesrescue.com/foster-application/ This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

Story

APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/We must have an application to move forward.SCOOBY is a big boy...at least 65#. His estimated DOB is 1/5/2020...so he is almost 4 yrs old. He is a very FUN dog and loves playing with other dogs but he is exuberant and easily intimidates smaller dogs. He would be a great companion dog for a large breed dog. He loves everyone and just wants to play. He has not had in-house training...in a shelter with lots of dogs, the big ones don't necessarily get the royal treatment. He has been leash trained and loves to go on walks. After he get rid of the initial excitement about going out, he walks gently on the leash. I do not trust him with a cat. If it runs, he will chase. He sees them as lots of fun. Scooby would be great with a family with older children. Smaller ones would probably get knocked down during playtime. He needs a home with large back yard, I would not recommend him for an apartment.Check out our YouTube Video: https://youtu.be/KD9BUCFmQCsThis dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Story

APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/We must have an application to move forward.CHARLIE is a 60# white Lab. DOB 12/29/2021…about 2 yrs old. He is a happy camper… loves everyone and all dogs. Because of his size he is a bit rambunctious. I would not put him with a small dog as a companion. He does need training. He was found wondering the streets in the county/country. He was about to get hit by a car as he kept crossing the street. A good friend called me really quick and I said “sure”, bring him over. He had no collar and no microchip. My friend tried to find the owner but to no avail. We figured he was probably dropped out in the country as a way to get rid of him. So, he is now available to be someone’s really great and fun companion. I have not tested him to be house trained and he does think cats are great to chase and pester. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. Story

APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/We must have an application to move forward. In foster in Tumwater, WASARGE is a wonderful, mature dog. He is 6 yrs old. We are guessing at his breed seeing as how he has some color markings of the Blue Heeler (not the actual color) and shorter legs than would be expected so we think maybe Beagle. He is 40-45# but not very tall...he's stocky. Sarge is calm, happy, LOVES attention (loves to be scratched). He enjoys stuffed toys but isn't real good at fetching. We believe him to be house trained. He has stayed outside most of the time at our rescue but the time he was in the house, he didn't offer to lift his leg once. He sniffed but didn't do anything about it. ALSO, my two cats were there to meet him. He was interested but the cats did not get up to run and ignored them after he sniffed a little. One of them took a swing at him and he backed off fast. Sarge is real easy on leash. He is in his own kennel outside and does not bark with any anxiety, etc. Sarge is a great dog for a couple or single person to go on walks and play on the beach. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention.
