This took me a week lol

Were starting off with my staff weapon concept. this was MOSTLY an original idea but i took inspo from pinterest, books, and games like super smash, hades, and bayonetta. :))

First off, I made a bit of lore for magic staffs and how they work + how they’re created.

Lore: Magic staffs are carved from the wood of Yggdrasil trees. Trees with magical properties that began to sprout from the earth during the cataclysm, when the Song was at its highest peak. These trees have the power to conduct the Song and channel the power of the attunements. The staffs can be made with the wood of the trees as the conduit, and a magical ingredient that is tied to the attunement being imbued into the staff (dying embers, spark glands etc.)

Things to know:

-Yggdrasil trees spawn in 3 places, song seeker wilds with a 5% chance of spawning, hive with a 10% chance, and the central lumen with a 20% (assuming central lumen will be added) (it probably will) chopping one down gives 2 of its wood

-Magic staffs will be the first “craftable” weapons.

How to obtain a Magic Staff:

-4 pieces of Yggdrasian wood

-10 magic ingredients of the same kind

-you need to be power 10+

Go to a crafting table with all the ingredients and craft it, You need a requirement of 50 medium and 100 attunement to equip it.

-Types of Magic Staffs-

Flamecharm:

Korilfiends Torch-

“A torch forged of Yggdrasian wood and dying embers, used by flamecharm cultists who worship the drowned god of flame to defend themselves and to cremate their dead.”

Appearance-

A long wooden shaft with swirls of smolder on it, at the top of the staff is a metal cage with an eternal flame burning inside of it, if you have the azure flames path the flame inside of the cage is blue. Everywhere you go you leave flame particles in your wake.

M1s- bash left and right with the staff, uppercut with it once and flourish with a blast of flame

Crit- Shoot out a beam of flames at your cursor

Block anim- Manifest a wall of molten rock to protect you from harm

Frostdraw:

Boreal Spire-

“Carved from the mystic woods of Yggdrasil trees and the ever freezing touch of Frigid prisms, This staff is a harbinger of winter and an instrument of chaos in the battlefield.”

Appearance-

A wooden staff with patches of frost forming on it, the stop of it is a shard of glowing ice with pieces of ice floating around it too. You leave frost where you stand.

M1s- Jab twice in front of you, twirl the staff and bash the opponent in the side before you twirl around yourself slice in front of yourself

Crit- send out a trail of ice statues in the form of random shapes, people and animals before they all explode one by one

Block anim- summon two swords of ice, blocking or parrying the next attack(s) to plague you

Thundercall:

Storm Cleaver-

“This wicked polearm was originally crafted and used by a legendary thundercall mage whose name is now lost to time, the orb at the top of it seems to flash and vibrate with an inner storm.. Forever raging and unyielding just as its wielder.”

Appearance- a zigzag shaft with cracks around it that seem to resemble

lightning, sparks and static escape through the glowing cracks. The top is a glass/crystalline orb that has what appears to be a wrathful stormcloud inside of it. (its lightning effects are yellow and black but with surge path its blue and black)

M1s- hit the opponent with the butt of the staff then shift its position to bash them in the side of the head with the orb before blasting them 3 times in the stomach with lightning, first 2 blasts are apart of the combo and the 3rd blast is larger and it's the flourish of the chain.

Crit- Roar into the skies while your staff is raised above you, bolts of lightning strike all around you

Block anim- you summon an invisible field of negative charge that pushes attacks away (but this is deepwoken so its blocking attacks, not pushing)

Galebreathe:

Zephyrean Striker-

“Although pleasant to look at, this work of art created from Yggdrasian wood and Gale stones will be the last thing you see before meeting your demise.”

Appearance- the shaft is a lighter shade then the others, since this one is made with younger Yggdrasian trees (for the aesthetic, it's ok guys!!!). The shaft also has beautiful green swirls of imbued gale stone and the top is a green crystal flanked by six wings carved of gale stone, 3 on each side of the crystal. A soft breeze is seen swirling around you while having this equipped

M1s- you swing it from left to right like a bat, twirl it in front of you for a barrage of hits and for the flourish you slam it on the ground creating a small shockwave of wind to knockback the opponent.

Crit- i had two ideas for the crit, the old tornado mantra just slightly smaller so it's not hideously overpowered and unfair OR the user raises the staff above them and bird shaped projectiles of hardened air erupt from the green crystal at the top. The birds auto track and they each deal 0.005% damage so its not op (7 birds are summoned)

Block anim- create a shield of hardened air in front of you

Shadowcast:

Nyxtower-

“When combining Yggdrasian wood with the dark and cryptic nature of shadowcast you get a corrupted weapon of unstable power. This staff is a harbinger of death, used by elite cultist mages of the ministry to carry out the will of the depths."

Appearance: Since Yggdrasil trees are good and natural, combining its wood with the power of darkness corrupts it. It has a slightly crooked black wooden shaft, at the top is a large crescent moon of Umbral obsidian with metal chains hanging from the crescent, there are also metal chains wrapped around the shaft. You leave withered grass where you walk.

M1s- You sweep in front of you with the staff in quick succession from side to side, cutting the opponent like stalks of wheat before stabbing them in the chest with the crescent and lifting them up into the air and in the same breath you blast them off with a blast of shadows.

Crit- send out a large wave of darkness in front of you, withering the grass and stealing ether and life force from the opponent(s) hit (1% health for each person hit with the crit)

Block anim- create this symbol in front of you ☽⬤☾ out of hardened darkness but big and it blocks and parries stuff

Oath#1

Love magic oath!!

This is inspired by Boa Han from one piece and her mero mero fruit

Amorsoul

“You vow to see the beauty in everything within this dying world, Your love knows no bounds and your heart is a weapon capable of bringing kingdoms to their knees.”

Appearance: your eyes are pink and you gain a faint pink aura

Obtainment & Requirement: have 30 charisma and 30 intelligence, go to a nice priestess lady in a magic island that only reveals itself when the quest is active, when u do this u get the first passive and first mantra, to get the other passives and mantra kill evil siren ladies around the voidsea (i'm bad at this bare with me guys :(( )

Passives:

Bewitching- all of your Amorsoul mantras apply the charm effect

Heart shattering- when hit with the charm affect your next Amorsoul mantra becomes empowered (it deals 1.5x more damage and it summons a seeking love arrow that deals 1% damage)

Stunning strike- Amorsoul mantras apply stacks of “Hardened” theres 5 stacks of it. This effect causes the opponent to be slowed by 3% with each stack. Its signaled by the opponent turning grayer with a stonelike skin each stack.

Mantras:

Enchanting Beatdown-

Do a plethora of backflips and front flips, firing blasts of pink energy from your kicks

Love Conquers All- anyone who you inflicted with at least 3 or more stacks of Hardened will freeze in place for a second after casting this mantra before the stoneskin on them applied by Hardened cracks off an pink flowers blossoms all over them, dealing poison damage (0.07% of damage for 7 seconds) (block breaks but is parryable)

Cupids Wrath- go into a windup where you wrench a bright pink orb of light out of your chest and raise your hand into the sky, the orb dissipates and pink heart tipped arrows of light rain in a zone around you dealing chip damage and applying stacks of hardened (parryable, blockable if you have a archwarder build lol)

Hypnotic Shock- shoot out a short ranged heart beam, deals decent damage

Guilty Pleasures- coat yourself in an aura of love magic, any attack that touches you will send out seaking kiss shaped projectiles

Heart attack- to cast this you need to be at 50% health or lower, go into a windup where you get on your knees and hold your chest (kinda like your crying) before unleashing a cry of agony causing a huge heart shaped aoe of pink light that knocks back enemies and does a bar of health. (can't block this but you can parry it) (has a cd of 5 minutes)

Oath#2

Runic magic oath

Runecrier

“You vow to utilize the raw power of runes, a primal segment of the Song, Unbeknownst strength flows through your very soul..”

50+ ether 2 combat 1 support

Appearance: you gain blue eyes and a halo of sigils floating around your waist

Passives:

Chanting Edge- Press N to place runes on your weapon(s). You gain 1.5x more posture and 1.5x more damage for 10 seconds. Has a cooldown of 1 minute

Ten Fold Law- after parrying a mantra 9 times, the 10th mantra parry will cause you to return the damage, 0.70x stronger (applies the effect of that mantra too if it has one)

Crescendo- Being block broken gives you 25% more ether back

Ritualist- Runecry mantras are all ritual casted, in return your Runecry & attunement mantras gain 10% more damage

Mantras:

Runescape- when casted, creates a large zone where random runes and sigils spawn on the floor (these are just traps). Each rune has a color corresponding to the attunements (yellow rune traps apply shock, red applies burn, etc.)

Spellblade- this ONLY works when using the chanting edge talent. Cast this to send out an attack with your weapon. (changes depending what weapon type)

When using a dagger- do an cross shaped slash on the opponent

When using a gun- shoot a small rune shaped bullet that ricochets around the opponent

When using fists- summon a rune in front of you and punch it, causing it to explode

When using rapier- thrust with your rapier, creating a small, thin piercing beam of blue light

When using greatsword- stab the ground, creating pulsating cracks of blue light that knocks back enemies

When using a greataxe- Cleave the world in two with a large slash of blue light

When using a greathammer- summon runic orbs and hit them with your hammer like a baseball bat, firing them at your cursor

When using a sword- send out flying slash projectiles of blue light

When using a spear- chuck your spear at the cursor, where it lands summon a rain of runic blue light spears

When using a club- summon a rune on the ground in front of you and smash it with your club, creating rock spikes in a short range (basically a more dramatic, old ice eruption)

When using a rifle- shoot out short ranged runic bullets that stop in midair before shaking for 2 seconds and then exploding

Oath#3

Necromancer Oath

Deathchanter

“The cries of the damned fuel your power, you vow to become a consort of the depths and a reaper for the souls of this decaying realm.”

Appearance: Black eyes and a crow skull pendant with a white aura hanging from your waist.

Passives:

Empowered Mortuary- Your necroskippers are stronger. they have 10% more health when you’re on your 2nd life (you can summon more than 2 as well)

Reapers Bounty- when gripping someone, you reveal other downed players for yourself.

Fallen Touch- Deathchant mantras apply “Decay”. This allows you to do 25% more weapon damage but take 10% more weapon damage for a duration of 10 seconds

Decaying Lament- when gripping someone who was the Decay passive, you heal up to 10% health from the grip

Mantras:

Tormented Souls- summon a barrage of skull projectiles that auto track to the nearest opponent. Can be parried.

Summon Necroskippers- Summon 2 Necroskippers to aid you in battle. (these can be interacted with for other cool moves, keep reading)

Dying Monsoon- Blast in front of you a slow moving funnel of Deathchant that decays and destroys everything it touches. (deals huge damage, its slow you can dodge this or parry it so it's fair frfr)

Thanatos- Manifest a scythe of Deathchant and sweep in front of you. If you hit one of your necroskippers with this they explode.

Nightmare fuel- Decay the area around you, draining the life of everything your power touches before releasing that life force in a devastating pulsing shockwave of Deathchant. (deals moderate damage). When your necroskippers are caught in the Absorbing part they die, causing this attack to gain more damage, when they get hit by the shockwave part they merge together into one huge necroskipper that dies after 5 seconds but deal 30% more damage than a normal necroskipper.
